Pounds to Kilograms (lbs to kg) Converter
Your scale shows pounds, but your airline lists baggage allowances in kilograms. Convert the weight before you leave home instead of estimating at check-in. For example, 50.7 lb is approximately 22.997 kg — very close to 23 kg, but not exactly the same number.
50.7 lb = 22.997133 kg
Airline allowances vary by fare, carrier, and route. Use your booking's actual limit, not an example on this page.
Conversion formula
kilograms = pounds × 0.45359237
Results are rounded to six decimal places; the reference table is rounded to three.

Check your bag against a kilogram allowance
Start with the allowance on your own ticket, then weigh your packed bag, including its wheels, handles, and any attached items. Enter the scale reading in pounds. The kilogram result is the number to compare with the airline's published allowance. A conversion cannot tell you which allowance applies to your fare or flight.
If you are close to the cutoff, remove something rather than relying on rounding. Your home scale and the airport scale may not agree perfectly. The table gives rounded reference values, while the calculator keeps more decimal places. A rounded display is useful for planning, not a promise that an overweight bag will be accepted.
The same calculation works for body weight or purchases sold by weight. It does not convert luggage dimensions: pounds and kilograms measure mass, while inches and centimeters measure length. Check the airline's size restrictions separately from its weight restriction, including any rule for the combined dimensions of a checked bag.
